The Best of Burgers at Firebird Diner
Firebird Diner is the epitome of all-American excess with firm favourites including the renowned Burger Khalifa, consisting of two double US prime Creekstone beef burgers stacked on top of each other including fillings of lobster tail, egg, cheese, truffle aioli and foie gras. The new duck confit with Creekstone beef and all the trimmings is a must have as well classics such as the All-American and Big Tex Burger. With the new Deliveroo service too, diners can order their favourites to their doorstep at just a click of a button.
Homemade Chocolates at Penrose Lounge
There is always time for a piece of chocolate – whether treating oneself or family and friends, the Hotel’s new chocolate boxes will be sure to satisfy any variety of cravings. A selection of flavours (coffee truffle, dark chocolate, peanut butter and jelly, rose, lime and Nutella) are presented in beautifully decorated boxes in the stylish, signature colours of Penrose Lounge – black and gold. All of the chocolates are handcrafted at the Hotel by its masterful team of chefs using the freshest ingredients and best cocoa vintages. Whether in need of a little gift for someone or feeling peckish oneself, definitely try these delicious treats.
The Perfect Place for Afternoon Tea
Comprising a selection of the highest quality savoury and sweet delights by dynamic Executive Chef Matthew Dahlkemper, the Afternoon Tea comes served with an assortment of Jing teas or bubbly to brighten up the New Year. Savoury highlights are reminiscent of Dahlkemper’s years growing up in the USA and include the New York-style salmon bagel and Maine lobster rolls, without forgetting the foie gras mousse (which he recommends “should partially be saved for accompanying the scones”). The sweets are plentiful and substantial with spotlight items in the form of a raspberry financier and chocolate marquis. This decadent tea is complete with three unusual flavours of scone: cheddar cheese, walnut and orange honey, all served with Devonshire clotted cream, homemade jam and orange butter.
